FAPESP is a public institution with the mission of supporting scientific and technological research and development in the State of São Paulo, through the selection of research projects in all areas of scientific knowledge, presented by researchers linked to higher education and research institutions in São Paulo, and based on peer review, a methodology that uses reviews issued by Brazilian researchers and foreigners not linked to the Foundation.
